Ten Years of Luv

Since some of you are anticipating an update of the Anniversary Party this weekend, I am taking it upon myself to give you all an abridged account. I would hate to take away from The District's thunder but people are anxiously awaiting a recount of the events and I hate to disappoint. It was truly a fantastic party. Much Thanks to Rita Jean for putting it all together. And props, too baby for putting yourself on lockdown a couple times in order to make it all happen. Sister Disco, we won't mention the grocery store adventure where you all ended up on the news.

Even with my prolific creative writing skills (according to BK DM). I am unable to convey the love, the happiness, the togetherness and the vast friendshipness that the weekend exuded. So, I will just point out a few highlights:

Friday Night The District and I waited at the P-Rat for the HottBeef and Baby Lisa as they drove through a nasty snowstorm in PA to get here. It was great to see them at 2:30am and I'm sure the last thing they wanted was a drink after their ordeal, but... When in Rome, Right?

I got stuck working so I was unable to assist Rita Jean with her pre-gala preparations; trust me she did fine all by herself. For the party, The District asked me to be the "photographer" (for lack of a better term). I was happy to do it, but since I lack that "eye", it just meant that I would snap away and hope that I would produce a good picture or two out of a hundred.

Everyone who was anyone or who knew anyone on U Street showed up. We had Pittsburgh peeps, OH peeps, even those from SE trekked all the way across the River to be a part of the event. Holla J to the C. We missed those folks that didn't make it from Columbus, oh well, maybe we'll see ya'll at the 20 year.

Once the party got started, TD and Hellen Bed got many wonderful gifts wrapped in Tin (Reynold's Wrap Foil). Then people were invited to toast the happy couple. Many happy wishes were blessed and The District thanked everyone and made a speech about the details of how they met. Cute story about TD writing his number down in a matchbox, tucking it away in a cigarette box and HB
throwing it away. TD went to the trash, retrieved the empty cigarette box with the matchbook in it and let HB know that he just threw away "a good time" [sic] TD went on to recreate the moment and instead of a matchbox, HB pulled out a string of PLATINUM RINGS!!! Yes ladies and gentleman, Baby Boy finally got his jewelries!! and let me tell you Friends, there was not a dry eye in the house. I'm actually tearing up just writing this.

After that lovely ceremony, it was just your standard get together; everyone leaves the party with the free booze and decides that they need to go to a bar and drink more shots, of course! Since we all know that "Last Call" is only a suggestion, we all head to RJ's for more drinks. This is where someone decides to "give back" all the vodka he drank and deposited everything on RJ's 600 Thread Count sheets. Cranberry, Pasta and all!! Needless to say, the party was over.

FFWD: Brunch at Chimney Fall's for the out of towners. DJ Skittles made his tasty breakfast casserole and biscuits and gravy. Why we don't do this more often, I just don't know. Hint, hint. After a tasty meal, the HottBeef Clan left and I got sad. That was ok, cause then RJ's VA friends sent him a limo so him and his Bi-BF could join them on their porn tour. I caught a ride in the limo and took pics of all the goodies that they brought with them. Just think, VA suburbian women in their 40's riding around town with sex toys and bar hopping. Wait, I probably shouldn't judge, as that may be me in a few years; if not next weekend.

All in all, it was a great time. Thanks Friends for a great time and Congratulations on your 10 years together. May you have many Blessed and happy more.

I Heart You Both,

VB

Thank you friend for being part of our Rock Star Anniversary weekend. I'm going to send people here to read about it since I haven't had time to blog!
