I'll Miss my PollyAnnie
One of the coolest managers is transfering to our restaurant in 703. I will miss her alot because she along with me keeps a level head at all times. She brought a great balance to this place and now chaos will be restored because I will be working with 2 super hyper managers. One who I like alot and one who drives me up a wall with his self-centeredness. Supposedly this will only be for a few months. I'll miss you PollyAnnie!

Cell Phones Don't Like Water
There will be no Mobile Blogging today. The toilet at the P-Rat thought my phone would be a tasty treat. And, No, I hadn't flushed yet! Eww!

Farewell OH
Getting ready to board our flight. The District is doing last minute email/blog check. Hellen Bed and I got our Starbucks fix and Dags is charging her Crackberry (apparently the mansion didn't have enough outlets even though i spotted at least 5 in the living room alone)
I had a really good time in OH. The folk here are good stock. I'll miss rollin' in The 'Gator. Our driver/tour guide took great care of us.

Field Trip

We ventured out into the bitter cold to see the house where The District grew up and then watch his dad milk the cows. Did I mention we are on a dairy farm?
Here is what I learned today: BST - Bovine Somatropin: A hormone that cows produce to make milk. Cows are sometimes given BST in order cause them to produce more milk. It's all about the dolla dolla bill ya'll. HOTTBEEF's father dairy company , however, does not use BST in an effort to produce a more natural product.
Lazy Sunday in OH
Due to the frigid conditions outside the ski trip has been cancelled. We just finished a delicious breakfast casserole that our gracious hostess Baby Lisa prepared ahead of time at 2:00am. Sorry to dissapoint but there probably won't be much mobile blogging today since all we will be doing is laying around like my new friend here Moose.
Then again, the sun is still up, there are lots of provisions left and football starts at 3:05pm. So there is plenty potential for more chimeys to fall.

Say Hi to Baby Lisa!
We made it to the mansion. I would have taken a nighttime picture of the house but it's 16 degrees and windy outside. So you'll have to settle for a pic of our beautiful hostess in her fabulous brand new kitchen. I heart her and so would you.
OMG!!!

Where do I begin? Yesterday started out with your normal weekend trip with friends. I was promised several times "You're going to have a good time", yeah, yeah, yeah... It started out with our pimped out ride "The 'gator' (see previous post Kickin' it in Columbus). Cool. We went to see Dr. V's and J's new house. Cute. Then got ready for dinner at Cap City, where I had a monster meatloaf. Yum.
And THEN....The fun began!!! We took a surprise trip to a real live Fire Station!! We got a tour of the station, courtesy of Princess Firefighter D, who let me sit in the truck, play with the lights and she even let me wear the real live Fireman outfit! OMG!!! Can I just tell you how cool it was? I'm giddy right now just thinking about it. Man! It was on after that and since no one can tell a story better than The District, I will refer you to his page. You will see our bar crawl that gets kind of scary toward the end when we got to the "Trollmont" which is nicknamed that for a reason and I'm pretty sure is a haven for Meth heads.
Ok, off to Dr. V and J's for Mimosas and then to Amish Country. I promise I'll do better mobile blogging today.

Kickin' it in Columbus
I made it to Columbus! I'm here with The District, Hellen Bed and Rita Jean. Dags and Mary Rice will meet us later tonight. Of course the shennanagins have already begun with RJ trying to have a conversation with the talking GPS.
Here's our pimped out ride for the weekend, a Lincoln Navagator! We are Ballers!

Normalcy Returns...Sort of

School starts tomorrow and just in time too, I was getting myself in too much trouble. I had a great month off. I spent way too much money, had too much food and drink and stayed up way too late; who am I kidding? School won't stop any of that, but it will curb my behavior a little. Half of my friends are jobless or will be jobless in the near future. It's going to be hard for me to watch them hang out and have fun on school nights. I always feel like I'm missing something. Oh well, at least I'll know Avogadro's number 6.0221415 × 1023

Train Wreck...Bridge Burned

So, I wasn't going to say anything about this; But... I ran into a 'friend' this weekend, who may or may not be labeled an undesirable.
Sometimes I have lapses in judgment and I think that people are more honest than they really are. I let my friend Thick as Thieves crash in my hobbit hole and the next day he invites me to hang out with him and his boy, Miami Don, later that afternoon to watch the Redskins (who lost horribly to the Seahawks) game at Hooters (a PG-13 stripclub with wings). Well, I'm supposed to meet him at 2pm but I am frantically searching for money that I am sure I had in my pocket the night before. I couldn't find the cash, but I assumed in my drunkeness, that I hid it from myself in one of those efforts to save money. Thankfully, I was wrong.
In a random conversation I tell Miami Don that I am missing some cash, and if he and Thick As Thieves go out later and if Thick pulls out some cash that is fives and ones that it's probably mine. Well check this out...
Fast forward ten minutes later when the check comes. Two things happen: A) Thick as Thieves claims he ate nothing (which, what he didn't eat he made up for in pitchers of beer and shots) and 2) Miami Don argues with him about paying half the $125 check. Thick as Thieves gets indignant and says "FINE!" he throws cash on the table like a High Roller at the Poker table in Vegas. Twenty dollars in cash. Oh but wait!! It's 3 fives and 5 ones!!!
Coincidence? I think not!!! Moral of the story is... I can't tell you the moral of the story because I'm so floored that someone would actually have the balls to steal from me, that I can't even come up with the words to explain how piss-ed off and offended I am.
Not telling this to get sympathy. It's just an occurrence in my life that I am actually supposed to learn from somehow. Oh, I know... Don't let drunk ass bastards in your house cause they will steal your money.
At least it makes for good stories though :)
PS and BTW: I'm not mad, I'm just a-fuc*%n'mazed

Feliz Birthday, Special
It's the Special Mexican's Birthday today. She will be celebrating it at Movie Night by watching her pick, Raider's of the Lost Ark. Although I won't be able to make it until later, I'm happy she picked that movie. Her theme was to pick movies during the year she was born, so we could have been stuck with Chariots of Fire!!!
I'm not quite sure what the food theme is I just hope they have some leftover when I get there. I'm also excited to see The District and Hellen Bed. They have had a long weekend with Hellen's sick father and his strong, 'silver-tongued' mother. So I'm sure they will be out in rare form.
Special's man gave her an awesome gift of a gazillion lip balms for Christmas, so I'm really curious to see what creativeness he comes up with for her today (No pressure "Dancin", I think you are the bomb regardless).
Look how hot they are. The Beckham's ain't got shizz on the Dancicans'!!

Happy Belated Birthday TDB
As I stated in my previous post, The Dog in a Bag didn't make it down to DC. But being the great cousin that I am, we still celebrated her birthday U Street style by having a Sunday Funday. We started brunch at Vinoteca, which was a fantastic meal. The omelettes were a perfect ratio of eggs and your choice of filling, the heaving portion of grits were super tasty and they had a unique fruit platter that thankfully wasn't full of honeydew melon, cantalopes and grapes.
I don't know if The Dog in a Bag's owner had as much fun as I did on her birthday, because when we called her to give a birthday shout out, she was already in bed with a hangover. On second thought, I guess maybe she did have fun. Well, anyway this is us saying Happy Birthday Cousin!!! (Clockwise from L. VB, S&M, Rita Jean, The Special Mexican, Grandma P)

Weekend Plans Gone Awry
PS: Send your prayers to Hellen Bed and her family. His dad is really sick, so he and The District are traveling to Ohio today.

How to Entertain Yourself in Minnesota
On New Year's Day some folk choose plunge themselves into the ice cold waters of Lake Minnetonka, while the Gay Lutherans make videos.
This features my former co-worker and friend who quit his job and left DC for the frigid landscape in Minnesota to become a filmmaker. He's the cute one at the very end.
Love you Brother Louie!!!

A Day of R&R
Well, the holiday season has officially come to an end. All in all I had a great time and I enjoyed today by laying low in the Hobbit Hole. I slept in, watched T.V. and ate bad frozen pizza that I bought from 7-11 one night thinking that it would be a tasty treat one day; Boy was I wrong. Bad frozen pizza aside, I realized I had enough naps and watched enough police dramas that I was now in need of actual human contact. I called my friend Queen Mary to just to chat. We got caught up on our holiday adventures and talked about how poor we were. Of course, when you're broke there is only one thing to do; go out to dinner. We had our version of a low-budget dinner at a neighborhood restaurant. My good friend Sunshine was there and since she's a manager she gave us a "Good Vibe" Discount. Thank goodness too, 'cause a sister is rollin' with 3 bucks in her pocket.
I'm poor because I can't control my spending but Queen Mary is House Poor and now Car Poor. He and his sisters all bought new cars this week. He got an Infinity Q something or other. I took a picture of the dashboard because I thought it was pretty cool. Truth be told, it was way too cold and I couldn't be bothered to stand outside long enough to take a picture. It's got all the bells and whistles a new car should have, including a cool looking GPS (that you can't really see) and heated seats!! I know I'm behind the times on that stuff, but I'm primarily a pedestrian so it's the little things that make me happy.
Now that I'm re-energized I can start getting ready for my cousin's visit this weekend. This, my friends is a Chimney Fall in the making. Stay tuned for the Train Wreck.

Happy 2K8!!
Happy New Year!! Today and yesterday might be the two most overrated days of the year. However, if you surround yourself with good people and good vibes like I do, you can actually manage to have a good time. My friends and I had a delicious potluck NYE and we brought in 2K8 with a botoxed Dick Clark, yummy champers and a 3 Liter (Yes, I said 3) liter bottle of Duty Free Jack Daniels!! (That is just under 1 Gallon). Thank you M/C for once again opening your home to us.
The No Shows in the group really missed out on a good time. I'm not saying any names but I sure hope those 800 thread count sheets were comfy enough.
I, myself, prevented my hangover by heading to brunch in Deep Shaw, hosted by two of my most gracious and oldest friends. They acknowledged my soul roots by making Mimosas, cabbage with chorizo, and blackeyed peas (Mimosas might not be necessarily a part of my roots, but they definitely are a part of my soul). In turn, I played parlor games that, while very fun, can occupy a good chunk of your night. However, it's worth it to trade the majority of my time by playing David Geffen Game for a delicious curry lakta.
